Pairs well with Grado RS1i

Recently acquired a pair of RS1i’s from a fellow audiophile that bolstered beaten and abused L cushions. I pondered if I were to do a replacement of kind, or try the G cushions. I will say it here, all the hype, rave and praise is easily justified. Grado G cushions are well formulated, comfortable and a certain consistency no aftermarket cushion or pad could ever match. They manipulate the sound stage just a way that feels more roomy, and allows for a warmer feel. I prefer my S cushions for short listening sessions, but these… all day comfort. $50 well spent.

Nice upgrade for Reference Series Headphones

I recently purchased a pair of Grado RS-1X headphones through my local dealer. I found them to be excellent in sound quality, but unlike my previous pair of phones from the Prestige series, they felt uncomfortable on my ears, especially when I wear glasses. These larger foam earpads solved the problem completely for an additional $50+. Grado should offer these as standard equipment on their Reference series, but then, they might not be able to sell their Statement headphones because these sound so good. These pads are a bit expensive, but the comfort improvement is well worth it.

Get off of that fence and get this, it's worth it!

First, I was like "what, $50 for ear cushion? Heck, let me spend a fraction and get me one of those cheaper ones on Amazon.." Boy was I wrong. First off, it's not even the same type of material. Build quality is completely different. Next, the sound, wow! It's exactly that Grado sound. Actually, it sound even better. I am using it on my RS1X and wow wow wow. It's worth every penny!

A little too big but still very good sound for Prestige SR325e

Maybe I have a super small head or something, but these come down to the bottom of my jaw and even a bit below, which makes me think some sound is "escaping". I have the headpiece as short as it can go so there's nothing else I can do. When I physically hold the cushions up a little bit so that they're centered over my ears, I can hear a slight improvement in sound. It gets a little more robust. But the sound is still really good without doing that. I've now compared the two sizes and I do think the bigger ones offer a bit more in the way of true sound, a separation between the instruments, a bit more bass, etc. So I think I'll keep 'em!
