When you snag your pair of Grado’s open-back GW100x headphones, you’ll discover a message on the box interior proudly proclaiming the company’s six-decade legacy as a family-run business in Brooklyn. The design of these headphones echoes our heritage, boasting a no-frills aesthetic with circular grills, a smooth black-leather headband, and a commitment to delivering exceptional sound.
Grado has introduced 44mm drivers, redesigned speaker housings, and support for the aptX Adaptive codec, enhancing the overall performance. However, the design philosophy for the GW100x prioritizes functionality over flamboyance, and we've maintained a stripped-back aesthetic that exudes an industrial, hard-edged feel. The lightweight design offers practical features like an in-built microphone for voice calls and robust up-and-down slider mechanism for easy adjustments, a choice between wired and wireless connections, and an impressive 46-hour battery life at 50% volume.
Perfect for at home listening, the GW100x delivers as expected from Grado, offering a rich and detailed audio experience. Whether used wirelessly or with the 3.5mm jack-equipped cable, the headphones excel in reproducing diverse musical genres with clarity and precision. If you prioritize top-notch audio in a quiet environment, the GW100x is worth considering, despite its unconventional design and features.
With a more efficient battery and Bluetooth 5.2, the GW100x can now play music for nearly two days straight. Matching our GT220, USB-C is now included, bringing the GW100x in line with global charging standards. The upgraded chipset allows more information to flow from your device to the GW100x, all while maintaining a strong connection.

Customer Reviews
I love grado products and have been a customer for 15-20 years but was disappointed when I received my new 100x wireless headphones because the left headphone did not work at all when in wireless mode. I have sent them back to you and requested a replacement pair and hope that they are fully functional but it was just very unexpected because typically your products are of very high quality.
I received the headphones, powered them on and connected them. They showed 80% battery, so I started listening to music. After less than an hour of use they just stopped working. No low battery prompt, no voice warning. Tried charging them overnight, nothing. It took a week to get a hold of customer service. Maybe my emails went into their spam folder? Anyway a representative called me and is working to get me a replacement unit. Hopefully it all works out, but it was a rocky first impression of Grado as of now.
These headphones are comfortable to wear and deliver very well balanced and detailed sound.
I'm impressed with the overall quality!
The battery life is excellent too.
The headphones are better than the original GW100's, on terms of the build and snugness in the way they fit over my ears. I appreciate the best effort in delivering the package in the rough weather conditions in NEW YORK! FEDEX is a lifesaver.
I'm not an audiophile. Even headphone-enthusiast is too strong of a description. I'm just the guy who marveled at the sound quality of airpod pros. I also marveled at the sounds that came out of my KOSS KPH40's. Now I'm at awe hearing the sounds coming out of these cans. Wow. I love Bill Evan's 'My Foolish Heart' and when I listened to that song on my new GW100x, I thought I was able to count the hairs on the brushes. The coarseness of the brush gliding over the drum. Astonishing. Also, Bill, situated at around 1430. I could imagine him bending over the piano keys, feeling out the progression of the next tunes. I was there. Now that the pandora's box of open-back headphones has been opened, I wonder what will be next on my list. Btw. one concern I had was the loudness of sound leaking. But really, when I pumped out Rival Consoles' 'Monster' or David Byrne's 'Once in a lifetime', nobody batted an eye. I am loving these very much. I bought them from a vendor in South Korea.
