Grado 4E Gr8e earbuds December 30, 2018

The earbuds are quite good...but shipping using Fedex is completely unacceptable...they are absolutely terrible.....
I will not order any additional products if Fedex is the cartage agent......

Great sounding ear buds. Had a static like buzz in the left channel, but it worked itself out.

Got a sub with that August 19, 2015

Lets start with a plus. The nice wide spacious sound stage and imaging are definitely a 5. The details high end is like nothing I've heard before. Requires very little power so it is great for portable devices.

What is disappointing is there is NO low end bass. The frequency response of 20Hz appears to be more reflective of an electrical measurement rather than an accoustic measurement. Rolloff is more like 100Hz. I bought these to replace broken pair of iGi's. There is significantly more low end bass with the iGi. May try them again when they get re-released.

Overall, I do like the headphones, but the lack of low end bass for me is the reason for the lower rating. Those who do not listen to music with low end bass, these are worth the price.
But for for me, they are not.

Fantastic sound and great fit! August 6, 2015

Love these! Amazing quality sound and an excellent fit. This is the fifth pair on my journey to find the right earbuds. I returned Bose, Beats and more and couldn't be happier with my new GR8e's.

GR8e Headphone expectations April 22, 2015
Reviewer: Eric from Saint Paul, MN United States
I hoped for too much from the GR8e, but they are much better than most Buds for listening from Apple lossless files.
I had hope that the GR8e would sound like a pair of Grado SR125 open headphones which can easily make high compression files sound full and balanced. But most over ear headphones can have the bass response that at first do sound better than the GR8e or any other IEM.
When doing side by side comparisons I listened to each pair of IEMs for at least two tracks to allow for my ear to adapt to the change, also a good seal is important. (Shure E2,  Big Ear 1-C moulded, and Apple Buds)
Now the GR8e has set me on a path to find a decent DAC which is affordable and portable.  Alone the GR8e do an excellent job in clarifying the track but can appear to be sharper at first.
Comfort and portability is why the IEM is so popular and I use these most of the day. Very comfortable and can be used when your head is on a pillow.
